The Silver Age of Comic Books was a period of artistic advancement and widespread commercial success in mainstream American comic books, predominantly those featuring the superhero archetype. Following the Golden Age of Comics (1938-1956), the Silver Age is considered to cover the period from 1956 to 1970 - (10 to15 cents cover price), and was succeeded by the Bronze Age (1970-1984-(15 to 75 cents cover price) and Modern Ages (1985 to current-40 cents to $3.99 cover price).[1]
